Santa 2010

Those of you that got a good laugh out of last year’s Santa story, will surely laugh at this years…

Yesterday we went to visit the BIG SC at the mall. No, you aren’t dreaming, he really is at the mall and it really is only November 15th! I guess he just wants to get an early start on the list like the rest of us OCD people.

This year Noah was shaking when we got there and was really unsure about sitting with Santa and telling him what he wanted, but he did ok. He really wanted to be strong for Cousin, Eithan. Auntie Tori was such a sweetheart, she wanted to comfort him and kept trying to think of things to get him so that he would be happy and smile. He is so lucky to have such a good Auntie. J

When we got up to Santa, Santa was so patient with him and said, my Noah you have gotten big since last year and now you have a cousin. Noah looked at him in complete amazement that he not only knew his name, but that he had a cousin! Mommy looked at him with a smile and thought, this Santa is awesome, he knows how to listen to the kids coming up in line and get them excited! Once we sat down, Noah held on to me with dear life and told him that he was a good boy (most of the time) and usually made “good choices” and wants a “dumpy” truck and LEGOs. Mommy and Noah took a picture and he even took a “serious” picture by himself.

After he was done with Santa he told Eithan that it was his turn and he watched Eithan and made sure that he was ok. He so very protective of his cousin. He and Eithan took a picture together and Noah kept that “serious” look the whole time.

Now that we got seeing Santa checked off our list Mommy feels good, but this is a double edged sword. Noah thinks that Santa is coming now, not on December 24th. How do you explain to a 3 year old that he isn’t coming for 35 more days? Last night he wanted to leave cookies and milk and this morning he thought Santa was stuck in the fireplace! Yes, you read that right…STUCK in the fireplace!

I went into his room and got him ready for school and when we went into the kitchen for his morning drink he went over to the fireplace and said, “Santa, are you stuck?” I said, “Noah, what are you doing?” He said, “Mommy, I think Santa is stuck. Yep, I see his boots up there. I don’t know why he didn’t get down here.” I had to tell him that he wasn’t stuck and that Santa didn’t come last night and won’t be coming for a long time. He looked at me with sad eyes, got his things, and went out to the car.

When we started to drive to Ms. Dawn’s house he said to me, “I guess I was naughty, Mommy. Santa didn’t come to my house to bring me presents and watch me open them.” I had to keep telling him that Santa doesn’t think he is naughty and that he will get presents from Santa on Christmas, but that is not until after Turkey Day and not to worry so much.

I am certain that this will go on for quite sometime and that I will have to keep explaining this to him, but it is definitely entertaining and I wouldn’t change my OCD little boy for the world. I love him more than he even knows.

Being a Mommy is so hard sometimes! I hope all of you enjoy Noah’s Santa story 2010 and his Santa pictures.

We love you all very much and hope to see you all very soon!

Happy Holidays!
